Project Manager – Residential Design-Build Remodeling
Nicholas Design Build is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead high-end residential remodeling projects from groundbreaking to final walkthrough. If you have a proven track record of delivering complex renovations with confidence, precision, and attention to client experience—this is your opportunity to join one of Indianapolis’ fastest-growing design-build firms.
As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of large-scale remodels, overseeing schedules, budgets, trade partners, and quality assurance. You’ll work closely with our in-house designers, production team, and clients to turn bold visions into beautifully built spaces—on time and on budget.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage 2–4 complex remodels concurrently (kitchens, additions, whole homes, etc.)
- Own jobsite performance—schedule, scope, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure projects run efficiently with Buildertrend project management software
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during construction
- Maintain detailed documentation, punch lists, and change orders
What You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of residential construction project management experience
- Strong understanding of remodeling practices and construction sequencing
- Confidence managing high-end clients, project complexity, and competing priorities
- Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management tools
- Passion for craftsmanship, leadership, and continuous improvement

We all work together, daily, so we welcome the little bit of weird or awkwardness you may hide away. We all have it after all, so let it out! Love to Celebrate... Everything – Christmas Party? Prepare for all the videos and pictures. Flag Day? Pick a country’s flag and dress up! We use every excuse to celebrate. Did we create a Pup Day roughly once a month so our pups can help out around the office? Absolutely! (Mindful of those with allergies of course). We are definitely open to new ways of having fun; all ideas welcome! We are already planning some new things for next year!
- Competitive & Encouraging – Most of us are competitive so not only do we have individual goals, but we compete against each other. Healthy competition that is. It’s one way we encourage each other to get better and learn new skills. Growth can happen much quicker with a team cheering behind you. We compete in other ways too. A few of us workout together, while others are in a volleyball league together.
- Possibility for some remote work – Once you get a feel for the roles and responsibilities of the job and understand the dynamic of the office, we can offer flexibility to work from home as needed! However, most of us prefer to always be in the office. We also often go home an hour or 2 early on Fridays if we have everything done.
- TEAM PLAYERS ONLY – This is a laid-back, light-hearted, fun environment, but we know when it’s time to be professional and get the job done. With that, communication, trust, and work ethic are huge skill factors that allow us to create the environment we have, so team players are an absolute must. There isn’t a single day where you won’t have to collaborate with someone else, so if you can’t do that or you prefer to work on your own, then this probably isn’t the place for you.

As we are expected to double, if not triple, by year-end, it’s because we are creating the absolute best environment for our employees, so they in turn can create the absolute best experience for every single client.
