Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Shift: 3x12 rotating shifts Job Description The NICU Respiratory Therapist performs and documents evaluations and patient assessments, providing diagnostic and therapeutic treatment along with appropriate education. The therapist identifies significant changes in the patient's condition and documents them accordingly. Responsibilities Provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and physician assistance. Delivers appropriate patient education and family teaching based on patient and family needs. Documents assessments, treatments, and significant changes in patient's condition accurately. Communicates pertinent information to appropriate caregivers. Conducts pain assessments and takes appropriate actions as required. Completes all documentation following standard operating procedures, including medication charting and electronic medical record entries. Handles the disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory equipment. Responsible for the transport of infants to and from referral health systems. Provides high-quality critical care per the organization's patient care guidelines. Performs additional duties as needed to support departmental needs. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of experience in the NICU specialty. Current Respiratory Therapist license from the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from RQI Partners.
