Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 am - 7:00 pm (3/12) Day Shift
6:30pm - 7:00am (3/12) Night shift
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients.
- Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
- Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
- Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned.
- Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Skills: Required Skills & Experience:
- Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
Education:
- Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current License - Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- BLS
Unit: Adult ICU or Neo Natal ICU (Will work in one or the other unit)
Facility size: 500 patients
ICU workers with only long term care facility experience will not work.
