Respiratory TherapistWe are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient centered Respiratory Therapist!The ideal candidate must be a current Licensed Respiratory Care Provider with the State of Illinois, be a graduate of an AMA approved school, and hold a valid CPR Certification. Expected to know all equipment in detail, including the functions, indications for use and physiological effect on the patient. Responds to emergencies throughout the facility.Essential Functions:Keeps patient and organizational information confidential.Prioritizes patient care and responsibilities.Performs procedures of respiratory care accurately and completely.Teaches patients and/or significant others and share knowledge with other disciplines.Documents patient care accurately.Participates in performance improvement efforts.Interprets data and identifies patient requirements relative to age specific needs.Inputs data correctly in our computer system.Delivers care to patients from infancy through geriatrics. Understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of each patient.Administers respiratory medications and treatments.Evaluates patient response to interventions and acts accordingly.Communicates effectively with peers, team members, patients, visitors & others.Participates in required continuing education.Demonstrates vigilance in administration of medications and treatments.Other duties assigned.Competencies:Communication.Critical Evaluation.Relationship Management.Ethical Practice.Required Education and Experience:Must be able to think clearly during emergencies & be able to function well in extremely stressful situations. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
