The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the Food & Beverage team! Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid‑back vibe and fun, active lifestyle. The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150‑foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in‑room dining. At Waldorf Astoria, we create unforgettable experiences for our guests, meaningful opportunities for our Team Members, and a positive impact in our community. In this role, you will be overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of Aveo Table + Bar. You will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, overseeing 3 Assistant Managers and 30‑35 Front of House Team Members. The ideal candidate must be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, a talent for training and developing others, and experienced in all aspects of restaurant operations (e.g., financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations). At least 2‑3 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment is required. Classification: Full‑Time Shift: Various – must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is 95,000 - 115,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. What will I be doing? As a Restaurant General Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of a designated restaurant(s) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward Create and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy Maximize efficiency technology system(s) (i.e. Open Table) Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards Initiate and implement up‑selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and cross‑selling products and services hotel‑wide Recruit, interview and train team members What are we looking for?
