Job Description

We are looking for someone who is seeking a springboard to achieving their personal and professional goals following incarceration. We are looking for talented individuals who are experiencing the everyday challenges in obtaining employment and professional development due to having a criminal record. We recognize that people who have endured the hardships, systematic racism, and perpetual collateral consequences of being system-involved may experience significant trauma and chronic stress - we embrace you; come as you are! This is a tremendous dual employment & fellowship opportunity for individuals who are ready to make a deep investment in their journey and success following incarceration.

Position Status: 20 - 40 hours/week, Hourly

Restaurant operations are Tuesday - Sunday 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

All Square is seeking Restaurant/Food Truck Fellows to Join our Growing Team for a 1 year employment/programming opportunity!

• All Squares Fellowship is focused on steady employment, channeling of resources and professional development and job-readiness support for the one year you are with All Square! Restaurant/Food Truck Fellows will have access to steady employment at competitive hourly rates for one. During this one year, fellows also have dedicated (paid) time for professional development, individual and family therapy, civil legal supports (as needed), and a wide variety of professional development support including resume and interview support, professional mentorship, soft skills, DEI trainings, and a joining a supportive All Square community!

Who We Are

• All Square is a nonprofit social enterprise that invests in those impacted by mass incarceration. Our mission is to heal the harms created by the criminal legal system.
• We believe that all individuals deserve to be judged on their merit and not their mistakes. Additionally, we believe that meaningful reparations for communities who have been disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice system are of the utmost importance.

What We Do

• We deploy innovative interventions to do our part in transforming the harms created by the criminal legal system. We carry out our work through our four core pillars: our Fellowship Program, our craft grilled cheese Restaurant and Food Truck, our Prison to Law Pipeline program and our Law Firm (collectively known as The Legal Revolution). We also have a Dream Lab where we hold organizational events as well as open up to the community for various events and gatherings.

What Youll Do - RESTAURANT EMPLOYMENT

• Show up and be present every day Tuesday - Saturday
• Work from 20-40 hours per week in a fast casual restaurant
• Work closely with All Square fellows and staff to develop rapport
• Engage with ongoing mentorship and employment skills support

What Youll Do - FELLOWSHIP PARTICIPATION

• Attend bi-weekly institute day consisting of various resource presentations, groups, working sessions, etc.
• Engage in bi-weekly transformative circles with Creative Kuponya
• Attend quarterly all-org DEI and professional development trainings as well and team building activity days
• Engage with staff on personal goal setting, resume support and exploring interests and job opportunities following time at All Square.

• Contribute to a positive and professional work environment that values diversity, respect, and constructive interaction resulting in shared commitment to our mission of healing the harms created by mass incarceration.

• Manage other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Firsthand experience with the criminal justice system
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability To stand for long periods of time
• A desire to engage with others in the All Square community
• Values evolution and is open to new ideas
• Committed to creating an uplifting and inclusive work environment

Compensation

Starting hourly wage ranging from $19.00 + tips with significant growth opportunity throughout the Fellowship. Dental, Vision, 401k, Individual/Family therapy sessions (if desired), Civil Legal Support (if needed).
