JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is seeking a restoration plasterer for immediate and ongoing employment in the Chattanooga, TN area. Other building restoration experience is a plus.

TTG is an award-winning full-service building rehabilitation/restoration company. We self-perform multiple trades, including all aspects of historic masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, painting, and more! An employee-owned company. TTG is one of the nations leading federal restoration contractors. Our footprint has grown to three regional offices located across the Midwest and Southeast. TTG employees live where they work, resulting in the companys sustained commitment to preserving the community and architecture.

Primary duties include and require

  • Stucco/Plaster Workers: Must have extensive experience with stucco and/or plaster
  • Historic restoration experience preferred
  • Other onsite labor duties may be required as well
  • Minimum 5 years experience in trade
  • Install lathe and apply base coat, mid coat and finish coat plaster or other materials to walls, ceilings, or other surfaces as needed for restoration of historic plaster
  • Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, sanding, or applying a base coat
  • Mix and apply plaster or other materials according to specifications
  • Mold making from existing for restoration of historic plaster
  • Create decorative finishes by use of molds and applying texture or stencils
  • Repair cracks, holes, or other damage in plaster or drywall
  • Install framing for walls and ceilings as needed in like materials for restoration
  • Read and interpret blueprints or schematics for installation projects

Essential Skills & Employment Criteria

  • Strong knowledge of plaster techniques and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics
  • Proficiency in plaster finishing
  • Excellent attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship
  • Physical stamina and ability to work on scaffolding
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
