Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for experienced pharmacy technicians in Clearwater, FL. This role is ideal for professionals with a retail background who are tech-savvy and comfortable with Microsoft Office and phone communications. The position lasts 13 weeks with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, starting ASAP or shortly after clearance.

Location:

  • Clearwater, FL

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process prescriptions, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve rejections.
  • Prepare, label, and package medications for pharmacist review.
  • Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers.
  • Conduct daily inventory cycle counts, restock supplies, and review medication expiration dates.
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train across pharmacy functions and provide support where needed.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
  • PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, with retail focus preferred; call center experience a plus.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with patients, providers, and internal teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable making phone calls.
