What This Role Is About
At Batteries Plus, sales starts with listening first.
Customers come to us with real needs - dead car batteries, broken phones, key fobs that stopped working, lighting challenges, and power issues that need the right solution. Your role is to understand the situation, explain options clearly, and recommend what best solves the customer's need.
That solutions-first approach builds confidence, repeat business, and long-term relationships - and it's how our top performers succeed.
Pay & Earning Potential
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
- Includes base pay, $5/hour weekend premium, and performance-based incentives
- Base pay starts at $14.75-$15.75 per hour
- Top performers regularly exceed OTE through accelerator bonuses and additional opportunities
- Paid training during your first 3 months

What You'll Do
- Engage customers and uncover their needs through thoughtful questions
- Recommend appropriate products and services based on real use cases
- Sell and coordinate services such as key programming, device repair, and specialty battery solutions
- Own the customer experience from greeting through checkout
- Create quotes, explain options clearly, and follow through on solutions
- Partner with Repair Technicians who perform the repair and installation work
- Support store operations including inventory, merchandising, and organization

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including weekends
- Strong communication skills and basic math proficiency
- Comfortable standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working with small products
Preferred (Not Required)
- Retail, wireless, auto, hospitality, or service-based sales experience
- Customer-facing roles where trust and long-term relationships mattered
- Interest in growing into leadership or management over time
