Title: RF Technician
Location: 100% onsite at Glendale, AZ
Duration: 12 Months

Description
RF Characterization and Test Technician reporting to the Technology Lab Manager.
Required Skills:
Previous experience (2-3 years minimum) as an RF test technician.
Fundamental understanding of RF coaxial transmission and passive component test methods. Solid understanding on the fundamentals of connector impedance, the factors affecting connector impedance and time gating techniques using Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
Hands-on experience working with RF Signal and Power Source, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Power amplifier and a basic knowledge of the relation between current, voltage, resistance and the background of 4-wire resistance setup.
Creation and execution of mechanical, electrical & environmental test plans
Ability to read, understand and comply with customer Source Control Drawings (SCD)
Able to make sound & timely decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment
Use radio frequency, mechanical test and environmental equipment (e.g. vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, tensile test equipment, temperature/humidity chamber)
Build Electrical Test Beds using Electrical Characterization equipment such as Signal Generator, Amplifiers, Oscilloscopes, etc to determine the electrical performance of the connector (or) connector assembly.
Knowledgeable of general Electrical Characterization techniques such as Calibration, De-embedding, Time-Domain Analysis within the 40MHz to 100GHz frequency spectrum.
Able to translate verbal and written instructions into actions
Understanding of metrology
Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Mechanical aptitude in use of tools, fixtures, gages and test equipment
Day-to-day responsibilities include significant duties in three areas, as noted below:
I. Execute RF coaxial connector qualification testing per customer & MIL specifications
Interface with Design Engineering, Product Line Specialist and Applications Engineering to understand specific electrical, mechanical, and/or environmental requirements.
Develop test plans in compliance with customer requirements
Perform electrical, mechanical and environmental qualification tests to validate production
Collect, compile and maintain data in an organized and retrievable manner
Produce formal test qualification test reports suitable for presentation to customers
II. R&D prototype test and product characterization
Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams in the development of new products by preparing test plans, methods and procedures, preparing samples, conducting tests and compiling data
Collaborate with Design to define Critical-to-Quality attributes and define quality plans.
Conduct electrical, mechanical and environmental tests to verify the integrity of new designs
Collect, compile and maintain data in an organized and retrievable manner
Complete work in accordance with the Technology team objectives and the prioritized project portfolio. -Coordinate Competitive Analysis activities and document relevant findings
III. Support Quality and Technology functions with root cause analysis of customer-facing quality issues
Support corrective action teams to address customer field & other MOB issues.
Troubleshoot new and existing products to assist in the resolution of manufacturing and application issues.
Conduct electrical, mechanical and environmental tests to verify customer findings and support QIT group responses to customers
Collect, compile and maintain data in an organized and retrievable manner -Collaborate with other functions to address Stage 4 product or process control issues, creating a line-of-sight to achieve Product Quality Architecture targets.
Project involvement:
o Collaborate with and support cross-functional teams in regards to outsourcing and transfer activities.
o Provide support for the development of industry standards (e.g., SCTE, IEC, DSCC, IEEE).
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent military training
3+ years of experience required

Strong writing and oral communication skills
Ability to interact with customers on a professional level
Desired Skills:
Analysis of competitive products -Knowledge of end-user RF market technologies and applications.
Experience in Equipment Integration and Automation software such as LabView, BenchView, etc.
