Risk Management, Safety, and Sustainability: Youth Protection Coordinator Apply
POSITION: A full-time academic staff position is available in the department of Risk Management, Safety, and Sustainability. The working title is Youth Protection Coordinator, and the official title is Compliance Specialist II. This is a fixed term renewable assignment. The expected annual hiring salary is $40-$50k based on qualifications and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate or Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience in youth programming or coordinating youth events.
- Computer proficiency and experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Previous project management experience and ability to apply skills.
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of related experience in youth programming
- Experience in youth protection compliance (UWS 625, EO #54, ATCP 78)
DUTIES: The Youth Protection Coordinator provides administrative oversight and support for year-round offerings for minors at all UW-Eau Claire campuses. This position is responsible for providing administrative oversight, including the development and review of procedures, processes, policy, training, and a system of data collection. The Youth Protection Coordinator works closely with the Director of Risk Management, Universities of Wisconsin Office of Compliance and Risk Management and Legal counsel to address regulatory obligations and help ensure the safety of minors, staff, and volunteers.
- Develop consistent administrative and risk management processes for creating and implementing youth activities including monitoring dates, number of events, size of activities, University sponsorship, location of activities, and use of university services (Housing, Dining, Facilities, etc).
- Receive and review all requests to conduct a youth activity on campus, including but not limited to establishing clear risk mitigating processes for documenting all participants who attend a program on campus, develop and implement criteria for participation, develop and review websites for each activity, align registration and payment systems, policies, and protocols associated with participants.
- Coordinate, supervise and train campus community on following youth protection software platforms (CampDoc, YARS,VolunteerMatters).
- Develop and maintain a database for the collection and retention of information, communicate with program directors regarding all aspects of youth activities, provide accurate and detailed information to participants, parents, guardians, directors, risk management, and other stakeholders.
- Submit annual Camps and Clinics Blanket Accident Insurance report to Universities of Wisconsin.
- Create activity registrations, monitor youth protection compliance, and verify compliance with UW System Administrative Policy 625 and Wisconsin Legislature ATCP78.
- Develop training programs and guidance documents for program directors, staff, and volunteers to ensure compliance, risk management and safety procedures.
- Serve on the University Safety Committee.
- Develop a measurement tool for evaluating compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Prepare an annual review and report on youth activities and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
