1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Responsible for dialyss treatments for patinets hospitalized at Sanford. This would include: HD treatments in the Acute Dialysis Dept and at the bedside in the patients room. Also provide bedside HD treatments at Select Speciality Hospital (located inside Sanford USD Medical Center). Also CRRT via Prismaflex set-up and maintainence 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) EPIC charting, BBraun & Fresenius dialysis machines, portable RO systems, Acudose medication dispensing, Baxter PD cycler, Prismaflex 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. 2 years previous Acute Dialysis experience required. 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) BLS & SD nursing license. ACLS & dialysis certification preferred 5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) 10 hour shifts, every other weekend and some call. Staff work independently when providing a bedside treatment. 6. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Potential Acute dialysis at VA hospital 7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 9 bed Acute Dialysis Unit 8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1 nurse to 2 patients when completing treatments in the Acute Dialysis Unit. 1 nurse to 1 patient ratio when completing a treatment at the bedside. 9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. EKG training, One Chart Training, 1-2 weeks orientation as needed.

Comments:Schedule: Day shifts- on call once a week. 10-hour shifts Holiday and weekends: Every other Saturday. Potential backup on Sundays but not normally needed Float: Potentially over to the chronic unit Ideal candidate: Experience traveling in acute dialysis. Need to have EKG test done because will be on their own. Be a self starter, good at autonomy but also works well with others. Be flexible in your role. Chronic and Acute preferred. Patient Ratio: 2 to 1 patient ratio, if they are on outs 1 to 1 ratio.
