Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts (Evenings & Nights)
Schedule: 72 80 hours per two-week pay period
Holiday Coverage: Required

POSITION SUMMARY

The Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse provides primary nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Candidates must have both ER and ICU experience to be considered.

In addition to primary assignments within ER, ICU, and PACU, the nurse may float to other nursing units in a supportive capacity (not as a primary nurse) to assist with patient care needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to ER, ICU, and PACU patients.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans.

  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including cardiac and telemetry monitoring.

  • Serve as a member of the Rapid Response and Code Blue team as needed.

  • Assist with patient transport and support care delivery across various units.

  • Expedite patient flow on nursing floors as needed.

  • Provide patient observation/sitting when required.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active State RN license (must be current and in good standing).

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in both ER and ICU settings.

  • Current certifications:

    • BLS

    • ACLS

    • PALS
