About Facility:
o 457 licensed beds
o Trauma Level III
o Teaching Hospital
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center of Excellence
o Bariatric Center of Excellence
Unit Information:
o Beds: 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms
o Minimum Years of Experience required 2 years Critical Care (Resource Team requirement)
o Will you accept a first-time traveler Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery
o CT Surgery to include CABG, Valve, Dissection
Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:2
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)
Skills required:
o Management of vasoactive medications, various surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, CRRT
o Invasive lines, including arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers
o Management of invasive devices, including IABP, Impella
Support within the Department:
o Charge nurse may or may not have patient assignment
o IV/VAT Team? yes
o RT 24/7
o Intensivist 24/7 (unit based)
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Epic
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
Floating: If yes, where?
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o 2 days departmental
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other
o No call
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
