Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Contract)

Duration: 13-week assignment

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment in a small critical access hospital setting where nurses provide care across multiple service areas, including Emergency, Acute, and Long-Term Care. This environment requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Long-Term Care settings

  • Float between departments as needed due to shared unit structure

  • Administer medications and perform clinical procedures for acute and LTC patients

  • Serve as backup support across units when patient volume changes

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment

  • Maintain accurate documentation using the electronic medical record system

Schedule
  • Six (6) 12-hour shifts per pay period (72 hours every two weeks)

  • Every third weekend off

  • Holiday coverage required

Requirements
  • Active State of Hawaii RN license required by the start of assignment (application must be initiated upon offer acceptance if not currently licensed)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Emergency Department experience

  • BLS/BCLS certification required

  • Ability to work across Emergency, Acute, and Long-Term Care settings

  • Must be able to work in a facility that is not latex-free

Additional Information
  • Nurses may be reassigned between Emergency, Acute, and LTC based on patient needs

  • Pre-assignment onboarding includes an employee health appointment prior to the first scheduled shift

  • Experience working in small or critical access hospital settings is preferred

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
