- Job Title: Phase 3 RN NICU Nights at BSW Round Rock Medical Center
- Responsibilities include the care and treatment of newborn infants suffering from illness or prematurity, and the care for their parents and guardians.
- Provide round-the-clock care for the basic and medical needs of newborn infants in the NICU.
- Assist the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
- Oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model.
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments, create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
- Build relationships with patients and families, manage discomfort, and remain professional.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
- Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, contribute to peers' development, and show community service commitment.
- Must have a deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
- Needs to know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
- Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Must have a current and valid nursing license.
- Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
- The position is part of a hospital expansion and will be located in a state-of-the-art patient tower.
- Interviews will commence in Summer 2024, with selections finalized by November 2024, and start dates beginning on January 6, 2025.
