Full job description

As a nurse at ChildServe, you will join a team of caring professionals with a mission of providing needed services to children and young adults age birth to 30. At ChildServe, we know specialty healthcare and we know kids, which means our staff get to enjoy being kids themselves to help those we serve live a GREAT life. Our ratios average 1:7 with structured support from CNAs, CMAs, Respiratory Therapists, and other direct care staff.

We can match RNs and LPNs with the best fit based on skill set, passions, and schedule needs!

Are you looking for that floor nursing feel in an uplifting, interdisciplinary environment? Our Young Adult Complex Care, Pediatric Complex Care, or Pediatric Rehabilitation units all offer a variety of complexities and heart-warming experiences.

Benefits
Base wages: RN $28-37/hr LPN $25-29/hr- +$1/hr 2-6pm, $3.50/hr 6-10pm and $5/hr 10pm-6am
Up to $7,000 in hiring bonuses available for part-time employment.

When You'll Work
PRN: requires 2 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period
Part-time: any regularly scheduled shifts
Most available shifts are 12 hours 6a-6p or 6p-6a but may vary depending on schedule needs.

What You'll Do


  • Within the nursing scope of practice, physicians orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
  • Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned childs care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
  • (RN) Provide oversight of the care delivered by Licensed Practical Nurses and paraprofessionals.
  • Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a childs care delivery.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need


  • Current valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
  • Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language.
  • A COVID vaccination or approved exemption
  • A big heart for helping kids with special healthcare needs live a #greatlife.
