Job Description:

Seeking a full-time Roadway Design Engineer to join our Maitland office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction, accountability, and self-management. Strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a goal-oriented mindset are essential.

Our engineering team is widely recognized as one of the top groups in Florida, excelling in roadway design, traffic engineering, safety, operations, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems), and TSM&O (Transportation Systems Management and Operations). Our projects include everything from major roadway reconstructions to milling and resurfacing, trails, sidewalks, and maintenance of traffic plans. If you're looking to grow your career by working with seasoned professionals on diverse and impactful projects throughout Florida, FDA is the place for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop roadway and traffic control design plans using CADD software.
  • Prepare project deliverables, including quantities, cost estimates, pavement designs, typical sections, 3D modeling, and lane closure calculations.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including measurements, reviews, and photo documentation of existing conditions.
  • Perform roadway calculations and prepare related reports and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and 3D modeling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in roadway design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • E.I. (Engineer Intern) or P.E. (Professional Engineer) Certification.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
