In this role, you will be coordinating with ABB Sales Team and value providers to evaluate and specify effective applications, equipment, and methods to produce robotic oriented customer solutions in Robotics and Discrete Automation in Alpharetta, Georgia. This position also includes providing consulting services to production operations, sales, service, and customers. In this role, you will perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities
- Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, development, test, installation, and service, while working from instructions, specifications, and other pertinent information
- Prepare specifications and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and general instructions. Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports
- Work with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate
- Plan, conduct or coordinate relatively straight forward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review
- Work with sales and customers to determine process feasibility of applications our customers are interested in
- Create offline simulations to determine if a solution has the proper robot reach and cycle time needed
- Develop robotic demos for trade shows and support the trade shows with technical expertise to our customers
- Provide robot training and workshops for customers and internal engineering team members
- Become a subject matter expert in new robotic applications or products to provide credible solutions to our customers
- Open to travel around 50% per year for customers visit, on site training, trade shows support, etc.
Your background
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, and minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering, Automation, Robotics solutions
- Robotic Arcwelding experience is a plus
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
