Job Summary:
The Robotics / Logistics Technical Lead is responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy for robotics and automated logistics systems (ASRS) within a complex, regulated environment. This role leads system integration across OT/IT layers, ensures robust architecture and governance, and oversees commissioning, performance, and long-term sustainability of automation solutions across sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and design principles for robotics and ASRS solutions.
  • Lead system integration across PLC/HMI, safety PLCs, robot/ASRS controllers, and WMS/WES/WCS/EMS platforms.
  • Establish interface control standards including message structures, state models, exception handling, and recovery strategies.
  • Drive architectural decisions across OT networks, industrial protocols, and middleware to meet performance, scalability, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Lead technical governance activities including design reviews, architecture boards, and readiness gates.
  • Ensure traceability from business requirements through design, testing, and validation.
  • Define and oversee commissioning and qualification strategies (FAT, SAT, integrated testing, cutover, hypercare).
  • Lead complex troubleshooting, issue triage, and root cause analysis to achieve system performance KPIs (throughput, accuracy, availability).
  • Provide technical oversight to OEMs and system integrators, including scope definition, submittal reviews, and change management.
  • Drive technical decision-making impacting cost, schedule, and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including risk assessments, safeguarding strategies, LOTO, and safety validation.
  • Lead technical risk identification, mitigation, and communication across program stakeholders.
  • Support program-level planning, including resource forecasting and dependency management.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, templates, and documentation (ICDs, control narratives, testing protocols).
  • Ensure effective handover to Operations and Maintenance, including training, documentation, and support models.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Extensive experience in industrial automation, robotics, and/or automated logistics systems (ASRS).
  • Strong knowledge of OT/IT integration, including PLCs, SCADA, industrial networks, and warehouse control systems (WMS/WES/WCS).
  • Experience leading large-scale automation or logistics implementation projects.
  • Deep understanding of system architecture, integration patterns, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with commissioning, validation (FAT/SAT), and system performance optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and risk management in automated environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage OEMs/integrators.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
