JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position is responsible for creating and delivering technical training to New Flyer end customers to familiarize them with the bus and its various operating systems. This training may be delivered using various platforms, including, but not limited to, classroom, Learning Management System (LMS/e-learning), hands-on, and training/visual aids.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Deliver classroom technical training courses onsite at various Transit Agencies, adhering to all workplace rules, guidelines, and safety procedures of both the end customer and NFI Group, including the NFI Respectful Workplace Policy.

2. Assist in developing training materials that meet the needs of end customers and solicit input for new programs.

3. Assist in scheduling training with customers.

4. Assist in the development of training videos and e-learning courses.

5. Assist Internal Regional Product Support Managers (RPSMs) and customers with troubleshooting.

6. Deliver technical training to internal staff on request.

7. Handle special assignments as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. As Transit is a 24/7 operation, working the occasional afternoon and/or midnight shift may be required.

2. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Education

Post-secondary education in Teaching or Adult Instruction.

Experience/Knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle drive train, electrical, air, and hydraulic systems. Experience with heavy-duty automotive, construction, or transportation equipment, preferably transit.

Equipment / Machines Used

High Voltage test equipment and PPE.

Specific Job Skills

Must have advanced Windows-based PC skills (particularly PowerPoint), a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and relationship skills, and above-average verbal and written communication skills. Must also be a strong self-motivator with excellent customer service skills.

Travel

60%+ (position requires extensive travel)

Physical Activity/Requirements

May require some heavy lifting during hands-on training (ie. Axle hub R & R)
