About the Role

Friedara is seeking experienced Role Players / Cultural Experts to support a U.S. federal law enforcement training program focused on rapport-based interviewing and deception detection.

In this role, contractors will portray travelers from Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, and/or the Middle East in a controlled training environment. The objective is to help students understand culturally informed interviewing methods used to elicit information and detect deception across diverse populations.

This is a professional training support role, not scripted acting, and requires cultural authenticity, language proficiency, and the ability to provide constructive feedback.

Key Functional Responsibilities

  • Role-play as travelers from Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, and/or the Middle East in a controlled training setting
  • Participate in unscripted, scenario-based interviews designed to enhance interviewing and rapport-building skills
  • Adapt character responses dynamically based on trainee questioning and rapport development
  • Accurately reflect cultural norms, communication styles, and behavioral patterns
  • Maintain character consistency throughout multiple interview iterations
  • Provide professional feedback to trainees and instructors regarding:
  • Rapport-building effectiveness
  • Cultural dynamics observed during interviews
  • Opportunities for improvement
  • Wear culturally appropriate attire consistent with assigned roles
  • Comply with all federal facility security, conduct, and access requirements

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a role player and/or cultural expert representing one or more of the regions listed above
  • Degree and/or extensive demonstrated knowledge of customs, religions, and languages from Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, or the Middle East
  • Ability to speak one or more languages from the regions listed above with sufficient proficiency to participate effectively in formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and professional topics
  • Ability to read and comprehend standard newspapers, routine correspondence, and professional or technical materials related to the represented culture
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, as required by federal security and background investigation requirements associated with this contract.
  • Ability to work on-site for full training days (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Ability to commute to Harpers Ferry, WV 25425

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a role player for law enforcement, military, intelligence, or federal training programs
  • Experience supporting deception detection, interviewing, or behavioral analysis training
  • Acting, theater, improvisation, or simulation-based training background
  • Prior experience working under U.S. government contracts or at federal training facilities

Benefits

Compensation & Engagement Structure

  • Pay Range: $50-$85 per hour, commensurate with experience, language skills, and cultural expertise
  • Engagements are scheduled per training session and may vary throughout the year
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor role; contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and related obligations

  • This role requires successful completion of a federal background investigation prior to assignment
  • Assignments are dependent on federal funding and training schedules
