Lead Engineer - Maintenance and Reliability
Overview:
Join an expanding chemical industry leader as the Lead Engineer responsible for the maintenance and reliability of rotating equipment at our plant site. This role focuses on asset maintenance, reliability, outage management, and overall asset care to ensure optimal plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reliability Strategy Development:
- Develop and enhance reliability strategies based on business needs.
- Identify critical spare equipment and parts, determine inventory parameters, and enhance the preventive maintenance program.
- Create an asset care plan to ensure long-term equipment reliability.
- Plant Optimization:
- Coordinate equipment and process changes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), yields, reliability, process quality, and preventive maintenance.
- Cost and Performance Analysis:
- Analyze maintenance costs and repair frequencies to identify and address problematic equipment.
- Use existing OEE loss analyses to develop improvement or replacement measures for underperforming assets.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional teams in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma initiatives, investigations, and equipment improvements.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare monthly reports on the status of major maintenance and reliability activities and ongoing capital projects.
- Work Order Management:
- Execute and prioritize maintenance work orders, ensuring quality metrics are met.
- Oversee operator input of work orders in JDE for non-optimal plant issues.
- Incident Investigation:
- Lead and coordinate RCA investigations for significant reliability incidents.
- Assign RCA leaders and resources to address and resolve issues.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience as a Reliability/Maintenance Engineer in a PSM-regulated chemical plant.
- Solid technical knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance, asset care/OEE, and rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, fans, and blowers.
- Extensive experience with RCM, RCA, Six Sigma, and CMMS programs.
- Ability to work now and in the future without sponsorship.
