Safety & Compliance Manager
Location: Corporate Office (regular presence required) with Multi-State Travel
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70K–$80K + travel reimbursement
About the Role
The Safety & Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the company’s safety culture across 16 locations in 10 states. This role owns the core safety program — including OSHA logs, training, investigations, corrective actions, and compliance reporting — while also serving as the primary contact for customers, insurance providers, and regulators. The Manager ensures consistent application of company safety standards while bridging alignment with customer-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and refine safety procedures, ensuring consistent application across all sites.
• Lead site visits, safety talks, and coaching to promote accountability.
• Chair and guide safety committees to drive employee engagement.
• Deliver and oversee training for forklifts, pallet jacks, truck/container unloading, ergonomics, and other safety topics.
• Implement refresher training and toolbox talks based on trends.
• Ensure all certifications and licenses are valid and documented.
• Conduct post-incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Maintain and certify OSHA 300/301 logs and all compliance documentation.
• Interface with insurance carriers, medical providers, and regulators on claims and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and customer-specific safety standards.
• Bridge internal safety culture with customer-specific requirements when needed.
• Support customer audits and provide accurate, timely documentation.
• Partner with operations leadership to resolve safety-related customer concerns.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and prevent recurrence.
• Provide monthly and quarterly safety reports to senior leadership.
• Recommend refinements to improve safety performance across locations.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of safety/compliance experience in logistics, warehousing, or 3PL operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and warehouse safety practices.
• Proven experience in training, audits, and post-incident investigations.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging employees and customers.
• Regular presence at corporate office in cranbury, New Jersey 65-75 % and willingness to travel 25–35% across multiple states.
• OSHA 30 required; CSP or other certifications preferred.
