The Safety & Driver Recruiting Specialist supports day-to-day safety compliance and manages the driver recruiting and onboarding process. This role ensures regulatory compliance, maintains accurate documentation, and helps attract and onboard qualified drivers to meet fleet staffing needs.
This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to balance compliance responsibilities with candidate engagement.
- Monitor log books daily to ensure HOS compliance
- Maintain and audit Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
- Process MVRs, Clearinghouse queries, and employment verifications
- Track medical cards, license expirations, and required certifications
- Assist with accident documentation and post-accident testing coordination
- Support drug & alcohol testing program administration
- Prepare documentation for audits and insurance reviews
- Post driver job openings on job boards and industry sites
- Screen applications and conduct initial phone interviews
- Verify CDL credentials and work history
- Coordinate background checks, MVRs, and pre-employment testing
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates
- Prepare and process new hire paperwork
- Coordinate orientation and road testing
- Ensure compliance requirements are met before dispatch
- Support new driver follow-up during first 90 days
- Prior experience in trucking safety, compliance, or driver recruiting.
- Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in English and Russian or Ukrainian (preferred).
