Job Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs that reduce occupational hazards and support regulatory compliance on large-scale commercial construction and data center new construction projects. This role partners with field teams, project leadership, and client safety representatives to promote safe work practices, conduct audits and inspections, deliver training, and help prevent incidents. The position requires strong knowledge of construction safety standards, sound judgment in risk mitigation, and the ability to enforce safety policies in a professional and consistent manner. Job Responsibilities Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety standards. Enforce established safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices across active construction projects. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field training sessions for technicians, supervisors, and project teams. Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection records, incident documentation, and corrective action logs. Review site conditions, tools, equipment, and work activities to help prevent accidents and reduce exposure to risk. Monitor personal protective equipment compliance and support hazard identification and mitigation efforts. Collaborate with project managers, field leads, and client safety teams to address safety concerns and maintain compliance. Interpret and apply OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements to daily operations. Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and follow up on identified safety violations or deficiencies. Support the development and continuous improvement of accident prevention and loss control programs. Review project plans and specifications as needed to confirm safety requirements are understood and addressed. Job Requirements Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk mitigation practices. Experience in construction safety, preferably in low voltage, electrical, telecom, or data center environments. Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Ability to lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions in the field. Familiarity with PPE requirements, hazard recognition, and safe work practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with technicians, leads, project managers, and client safety teams. Ability to document findings, reports, incidents, and corrective actions accurately and thoroughly. Ability to enforce safety expectations confidently, professionally, and consistently. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting, logs, and documentation. Experience using safety management software, digital inspection tools, mobile audit applications, or incident tracking systems. Familiarity with learning management systems for safety training. Basic familiarity with Bluebeam or plan-reading tools is helpful. Composite toe boots required. Ability to stand and walk active jobsites for extended periods throughout the shift. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional safety training or coursework in occupational health and safety, construction safety, or a related field is preferred. Work Experience Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant safety experience required. Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects required. Experience in data center new construction environments strongly preferred.
