Safety Systems & Regulatory Knowledge – Strong experience working with EHS/safety management systems (e.g., Cority) combined with a solid understanding of OSHA recordkeeping, reporting requirements, and occupational safety best practices. Data-Driven Decision Maker – Proven expertise in database management, trend analysis, and translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that support leadership decision‑making, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. Position Concept (Level 1: Safety Analyst) Provide comprehensive technical support regarding all aspects of Safety and Industrial Health, including tabulating data and generating and distributing recurring and ad‑hoc safety record‑keeping reports. Lead and/or assist special data processing and software projects designed to improve safety reporting, awareness, and overall safety culture. Primary Duties and Responsibilities General Duties (30%) Serve as a company resource to support various information platforms used to track medical, safety, and health information. Provide general administrative support for the Safety department. Maintain the World Class Safety SharePoint site and assist with updating and maintaining Tampa Electric safety program documents and safe work practices. Design, develop, implement, and administer interdepartmental sites. Provide technical direction and consultation on content design and presentation. Work with end users to provide solutions to business process needs and access to data. Reporting (30%) Serve as a backup for some Senior Safety Analyst responsibilities including but not limited to monthly safety reporting and database maintenance. Coordinate, communicate, and ensure timely submission of safety‑related reports to Safety and Business Unit Management, including but not limited to: Develop standard and ad‑hoc safety reports and statistics and provide explanations for variances. Analyze and track safety data trends. Review proactive safety reporting data for trends. Produce TEC OSHA 300A reports. Program Leadership (25%) Administer the Tampa Electric CDL Drug Testing Program and assist in the administration and coordination of safety, health and industrial hygiene related programs, policies, training, and initiatives with the intent of strengthening the overall safety culture and ensuring compliance with federal (OSHA, DOT), state, local and corporate safety requirements. Procurement (15%) Process general purchase request and invoices for contractor labor and outside purchases, ensure all documents are validated with correct numbers and work orders, contact requestors and buyers for additional dollar amounts, and contact vendors with problems related to invoicing. Relationships Key Internal : Maintains close working relationships with other team members in the Safety Department. Interacts with team members at many levels within many departments across the company. Key External : Maintains working relationship with contract nursing staff. Senior Safety Analyst Position Concept (Level 2: Senior Safety Analyst) Provide comprehensive technical expertise regarding the collection, tabulation and interpretation of Safety and Industrial Health data for all TEC team members in addition to generating and distributing recurring and ad‑hoc reports for TEC, Emera Corporate and outside entities. The Senior Safety Analyst works with business units to ensure accurate reporting and interpretation of business analytics, provides guidance on OSHA Recordability, manages occupational safety, health incident reporting, accident/loss prevention trending for TEC, and oversees the safety and health databases. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Performs the duties of the Safety Analyst (15%) in addition to the following: Data Analytics and Reporting (45%) Develop, process and report findings of the E&G’s Safety Culture Survey. Administer departmental O&M, Capital and Other Revenue budget activities. Maintain database that serves as central repository of historical statistics related to all departments, ensuring confidentiality, importing and reformating data, and performing assessment of user needs for system design and data reporting. Provide monthly Safety reporting, safety statistical and historical data including tracking of historical Safety and OSHA data, providing explanations regarding any variances. Analyze and report injury trends, safety goal trends, benchmark, and key safety performance information. Provide the analytical and statistical data for the Executive Board. Create standard and ad‑hoc management reports. Support rate models that forecast injury and vehicle incident rates. Use rates model to provide analysis of predictive data and present course of action for leadership. Technology and Intervention of Safety Process (20%) Serve as liaison to technical personnel within the Safety Department and Information Technology (IT). Aid with communicating Safety Department requirements to IT, overseeing IT developmental work, collaborating with IT in recommendations of appropriate solutions, performing basic configuration and testing of computer‑based applications. Support, implement, and maintain critical department support systems and work processes. Perform research, evaluation, and special projects. Build a thorough understanding of business automation and improvement processes. Program Leadership (20%) Serve as TEC Lead for the Emera Cority Business Intelligence Team. Cority Administrator overseeing the functionality of the database system (querying data, demographics, SAP, and interfacing). Troubleshoot problems with supported applications, analyse and take appropriate action to correct, make recommendations, coordinate resources, and facilitate implementation of changes to processes or software to avoid future problems. Relationships Key Internal : Maintains close working relationships with other team members in the Safety Department. Interacts with team members at multiple levels within various departments across the company such as the Executive Officers and Claims Department. Key External : Maintains working relationship with contract nursing staff. Builds collaborative relationships with Emera affiliates regarding data reporting and business statics.
