The Safety Manager leads our company’s safety culture and compliance strategy, ensuring the health and well‑being of all employees, subcontractors and jobsites. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs and training, managing incident investigations, staying up to date with OSHA and local regulatory requirements, and driving engagement around proactive safety practices at all levels of our organization. KEY REPSONSIBILITES: Champion a company-wide culture of safety and accountability. Lead safety planning efforts and integrate safety goals into operational planning and execution. Serve as a key member of the management team, advising on risk and compliance issues. Programs & Compliance Develop and maintain OSHA‑compliant safety policies and procedures. Manage the company’s compliance with Avetta, ISNetworld, Browse and others Oversee site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Training & Communication Design and conduct safety training programs for employees and subcontractors. Lead safety orientations for new hires and conduct ongoing toolbox talks during Mini‑Huddles Maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and ensure accessible safety documentation. Investigate and document all incidents, near‑misses, and injuries. Perform proper case management to limit impact of incidents on safety metrics Lead root cause analyses and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Serve as the point of contact for external safety‑related inquiries, audits, or inspections. Metrics & Reporting Track and analyze safety performance indicators (TRIR, EMR, near misses, etc.). Produce regular reports and dashboards for leadership. Recommend data‑driven improvements to reduce incident rates and increase compliance. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings. OSHA 30 certification required; CSP, CHST, or other safety credentials strongly preferred. Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations. Strong communication, training, and coaching skills. Comfortable leading in both field and office environments. Proficiency with safety management software, Microsoft Office, and incident tracking systems. Preferred Attributes: Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Familiarity with ESOP culture or employee‑owned companies. Experience leading safety initiatives in multi‑site or fast‑growing organizations. Proven ability to build trust and influence behavior across all levels of an organization. Working Conditions: Field work at project or shop sites required (~30-50% of the time). Must be able to wear PPE, climb ladders, and inspect job sites as needed. Occasional evening or weekend availability for incident response or training.
