Job Summary
The Safety Engineer will support and enhance the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program to ensure a safe, compliant, and accident-free workplace. This role is highly hands-on and works closely with operations to drive a strong safety culture across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Promote and support a zero-injury safety culture
- Conduct safety training, meetings, and new hire orientations
- Perform routine safety inspections and identify workplace hazards
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
- Maintain safety documentation (training records, OSHA logs, incident reports)
- Support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs
- Monitor and improve safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with employees, vendors, and leadership
- Track safety metrics and maintain safety data sheets
Qualifications
- 4+ years of EHS or safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety compliance
- Familiarity with EPA standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with basic computer systems
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
