Position

Safety Engineer or Manager /Engineering Department

FT Position: 40hrs per week / On-site M-F 8:25am 5:10pm/ Greensboro, NC.

Safe, Clean, and Dust Free Work Environment

Compensation: Annual Salary Up to $90,000 based on experiences.

Qualification

Must have a bachelors degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or another related field. Masters Degree is preferred.

Must have at least 5 years of related experience.

Must have completed OSHA 30-hour training.

Knowledge and understanding of mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing safety, risk assessment procedures, hazard analysis, and laboratory accident prevention.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop training materials, presentations, program documents, procedures, and compliance reports. Strong ability to deliver training and program-specific presentations in an efficient, effective, and innovative manner.

Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other applicable governmental regulations and policies.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient and knowledgeable of the technology and equipment used in inspections.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Roles and Responsibilities

Inspects the workspace to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

Develops and maintains appropriate safety policies and procedures for the laboratory that promote a safe and compliant work environment.

Assists with the maintenance of policies and procedures, including the development of new policies and procedures and periodic review/updates of existing policies and procedures.

Conducts hazard inspections in laboratory areas to ensure application of control measures for hazardous chemicals, equipment, and/or processes.

Trains and educates all laboratory employees on emergency and safety procedures.

Ensures that material safety data sheets are up to date and readily accessible when needed.

Documents and maintains records of accidents in the workplace/employee exposure to hazardous waste/chemicals.

Maintains familiarity with regulatory requirements related to quality and safety and ensures that policies and procedures meet current standards.

Performs other related tasks as assigned.
