Overview Jobb Title : Safety Manager Location: Jobsite Specific – Jobsite will be Arizona based ________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary :Under the direction of the Safety Director and Assistant Safety Director, theSafety Manageris responsible forworking with management and employees to ensure a safe andhealthfulwork environment. ________________________________________________________________________ Duties and Responsibilities : Visualize, define, plan, communicate,and implement thecompanyvision and core values. Provide training, oversee policies andproceduresare followed andassistwith conflict resolution for fleet safety,vehicle,accident,and injury investigations. Accountable for safety data reporting for accidents and injuries. Responsible fora monthlysafetytoolbox training andsafetyscorecard. Serve as a business partner tosupervisors tocompose safety letter following accidents and/or injuries. Function ascompany expert on all safety related issues including workers compensation claims management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards,and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)regulations. Understand and ensure OSHA, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) standards and company safety policies are followed. Responsible for origination, development,and delivery of all safetyand job-site affirmative actiontraining. Responsible for all plant, job,and equipment inspections. Managecompany safetyincentiveand recognition programs. Visit project sites, in the field, and walk through to ensure policies are followed. Attend meetings reporting onthe jobsafety issues. Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. Maintaininsurabledriving record. Oversee compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. _______________________________________________________________________ Education and/or Experience : Blue Card Safety Induction in the Mining Industry – MUST HAVE Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline. Minimum fiveyears’ experiencein thesafety field. Safety training experiencehighlypreferred. ________________________________________________________________________ Individual Development (Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities) : Associate Safety Professional/Certified Safety Professional Certification. Detailed knowledge of OSHA, MSHA,and DOTregulations. Develop knowledge of company facilities and procedures related to safety. ________________________________________________________________________ Training and Development: New Employee Orientation Essential Leadership Customer Service Crucial Conversations Crucial Confrontations Business Etiquette Business Writing Environmental Compliance Defensive Driving Viewpoint Train the Trainer CVSA (Commercial Vehicle Safety Awareness).
