Location: Yakima, WA
Job Type: Part-time, 20 to 25 hours per week, Non-Exempt
Wage Range: $20 to $27 per hour (DOE)
Work Schedule: Monday Thursday, flexible

Reports To: General Manager
Remote Work: Not available this is an on-site position.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our growing team. As a Safety Officer you will be responsible for the safety of staff in the workplace. You will play a key role in ensuring all projects comply with local, state and federal safety regulations and procedures. The Safety Officer will compile safety programs and standardize them to remain consistent, as well as share best practice techniques with all personnel.
As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for staying updated with the latest trends in safety regulations and consistently implementing these practices in the workplace. Ultimately, the Safety Officer will maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every staff member complies with the regulated standards and ensures a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Safety Officer will facilitate weekly safety meetings to share best practice techniques and document attendance
- Practice safe working techniques and safety in the workplace
- Advise and lead employees on various safety related topics
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company safety rules and policies
- Ensure compliance in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
- Assist with incident reports and accident investigations
- Safety Officer will work with HR to implement a new employee onboarding safety orientation
- Enforce preventive measures
- Attend monthly safety committee meetings
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations to the Safety Committee
- Oversee workplace practices that could harm employees safety
- Implement safety standards
- Regularly inspect equipment and job sites
- Continuous inspection of job sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment
- Promote safety initiatives
- Management and supervision of company Accident Prevention Program
- Ensure all personnel follow all safety precautions
Requirements:
- OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 for the Construction Industry is a plus
- First Aid/CPR
- 2-5 years experience as a Safety Officer required
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule
- Excellent customer service.
