Safety Specialist

location – Rossford, OH

Start Date - ASAP

Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)

• Training Schedule: Training will take place for three weeks on a dayshift M-F.

• Shift Schedule: Shift will likely be a a dayshift Sun-weds or Weds-Sun schedule (Approx 7-18:30).

This is subject to change.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure warehouse safety through audits, OSHA compliance, training, and incident management.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly safety audits to identify compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate incident investigations to ensure worker safety and compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation to meet regulatory standards (29 CFR 1910)
  • Enter safety data into internal databases promptly
  • Perform safety observations and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Train and support team members, including Area Managers, on safety audits and compliance
  • Support fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety initiatives as needed
  • Drive process improvements to enhance workplace safety


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) role OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Strong communication skills and a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety-related field
  • Experience leading teams and conducting job hazard analyses
  • Expertise in Workers’ Compensation case management
  • Current first aid certifications
  • Background in healthcare or industrial settings
  • Passion for championing worker safety and OSHA compliance
