Job Description
EHS Technician implements, manages, and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA, EPA, and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organizations procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being an EHS Technician ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety, injury, and illness events. Additionally, an EHS Technician may have additional responsibilities for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities.

Accountabilities:
- Champion safety by monitoring and observing associates working on the production/ shop floor and identifying hazards and effectively communicating those hazards to the associates.
- Review current JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) documents, and complete new JHAs as needed.
- Assist with Ergonomic Assessments (Safe Observations)
- Assist with Safety Committee Team Meeting: (to include meeting minutes and follow-up)
- Review current Lockout Placards & Authorized User List, including verifying proper labeling of lockout points.
- Conduct Safety Layered Process Audits (LPA).
- Assist EHS in developing and conducting training (i.e. Fork Truck Training, Lock Out, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid/CPR ).
- Assist with follow up on closure of incident reports.
- Collect information from each departmental BBSO safety program and follow-up with solutions.
- Review chemicals on site and verify current SDS are in the online system.
- Perform various other duties relating to safety, MPS, etc. as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
The Important Facts: Shift + Pay:
- Starting Pay: $19.90 - $24.00 hour
- Plus $2.00 Shift Incentive for 2nd shift
Shift:
- 2nd Shift 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Qualifications
- Leadership and communication skills a must
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
- Proficient Computer knowledge a must
- Ability to use MPS tools for problem solving
- Ability to communicate with internal suppliers/customers across campus
- Ability to professionally communicate with external contractors
- Strong organizational & inventory management skills required
- Ability to work by yourself with minimal supervision
- Quality Oriented
- Must be willing to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Flexible in day-to-day task management
- Attendance / Reliability
- Demonstrates strong commitment to safety
- Capable of conducting internal annual trainings for large groups
