Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Sales and Use Tax Specialist to work on-site with our client, a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of a precision control components company. This role offers flexible hours, with a preference for candidates working 2.5 days per week onsite. As a W2 employee you will have access to health benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare over 50 sales and use tax returns (monthly, quarterly, annually).
• Conduct sales and use tax technical analysis, research, and interpretation.
• Manage reverse use tax audits for various states.
• Experience with Sales and Use Tax Engine (TR or Vertex).
• Lead the implementation of tax engines at multiple sites, integrating with SAP.
• Contribute to process improvement across various ERP systems.
• Collaborate with accounts payable, procurement, sales, and accounts receivable teams.
• Perform sales and use tax general ledger account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain sales tax exemption documents, including resale and exemption certificates for vendors.
• Maintain customer resale and exemption certificates database.
• Prepare 1099 forms.
• Address notices from taxing authorities and lead sales/use tax audits.
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding taxability.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in sales and use tax.
• Expertise in preparing sales and use tax returns and technical analysis.
• Proficient with sales tax engine software (TR or Vertex) and ERP systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage audits and respond to taxing authority notices.
