Ready for the challenge?The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our expanding South Africa sales team. As a key member of our commercial organisation, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and qualifying leads, initiating outreach, and scheduling high-value conversations for our Account Executives. Your goal will be to create meaningful connections with hospitals, clinic groups, and healthcare networks - helping clinicians across South Africa experience Heidi firsthand.This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth startup environment. You'll become an expert in engaging healthcare stakeholders both virtually and in person, visiting hospital sites and clinics to build relationships, understand clinical workflows, and identify opportunities for impact. A background in healthcare or a clinical discipline (medicine, nursing, allied health, or similar) is highly valued, as it helps you communicate authentically with clinicians and decision-makers.What You'll DoIdentify, research, and prospect potential customers (private and public hospitals, clinic groups, and medical practices).Execute outbound campaigns using a mix of calls, emails, social selling, in-person meetings, and product-led signals to qualify leads.Schedule high-quality meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives, ensuring smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.Engage with clinicians directly - including on-site visits to hospitals and clinics - to understand needs and demonstrate Heidi's value.Maintain accurate records in HubSpot CRM, manage and optimise sales pipelines, and consistently meet targets for qualified leads generated.Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams to streamline sales strategies and market positioning.Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs to identify new opportunities.What We Will Look For1-2 years of experience in a sales or business development role, ideally in SaaS, healthtech, or healthcare (preferred but not essential).Clinical background (e.g. medicine, nursing, or allied health) strongly preferred.Proven success in generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing high-volume outreach campaigns.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and articulate Heidi's value to clinicians and executives alike.Highly organised, disciplined, and results-oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of accountability.Eager to learn, adaptable, and excited about professional growth opportunities.Languages: English required; Afrikaans, isiXhosa, Zulu, or Sotho fluency is a strong plus given our diverse clinician base.Attitude is more important than experience - if you are hungry, competitive, and motivated, with a knack for problem solving and relationship-building, we want to hear from you.What do we believe in?Live Forever - Every release moves care forward: measured, safe, and built to last.
