Position Overview

We are seeking a technically strong and customer-focused Sales Engineer with an HVAC background to drive business development and provide engineered solutions to commercial and industrial clients. This individual will combine technical expertise with consultative sales skills to identify customer needs, develop system solutions, and close new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on HVAC technical knowledge and experience selling equipment, systems, or engineered solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with contractors, consulting engineers, facility managers, and end users.
  • Identify customer needs and design HVAC system solutions to meet performance and budget requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, bids, and system recommendations.
  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Support product selection, system sizing, and equipment configuration.
  • Provide technical guidance during installation and startup phases.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned revenue and margin targets.
  • Attend industry trade shows and networking events to expand market presence.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related technical field (preferred but not required with strong experience).
  • 3+ years of HVAC technical experience (design, installation, service, or applications).
  • 2+ years of technical sales or customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems including:
    • Chillers
    • Air handlers (AHUs)
    • Rooftop units (RTUs)
    • Boilers
    • Cooling towers
    • VRF/VRV systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within territory.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC projects.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and controls.
  • Experience with load calculations and energy efficiency analysis.
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or HVAC selection tools.
