Job Description: Sales Engineer – Mechanical Seal
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our team. Stein Seal designs and manufactures mechanical seals. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth through new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and identifying strategic partnerships within the aerospace, marine, and space market.
This role requires a strong technical background, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex mechanical seal solutions into value-driven offerings for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in target industries (aerospace, naval marine, and space).
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships with OEMs and end-users.
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals for mechanical seal solutions and repairs.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and business growth objectives.
Market & Strategy Development
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth areas.
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company goals.
- Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote company products and services.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product development teams regarding customer needs and emerging opportunities.
Collaboration & Customer Support
- Work closely with internal engineering, operations, to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of opportunities and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or proven technical aptitude in technical sales.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in technical sales.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building long-term customer relationships.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Prepare travel schedules and account visits.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
