Job Description

Position Summary

NDC Distributors is seeking a results-driven Sales Executive to help grow our pharmaceutical distribution business by building relationships with independent pharmacies. This role is focused on outbound sales and new business development, primarily engaging pharmacy owners, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians to introduce NDC Distributors’ solutions.

The ideal candidate brings pharmaceutical industry experience, including exposure to generic drugs, with backgrounds in human or animal health distribution preferred. This is not an order-taking role. Success requires proactively identifying opportunities, making consistent outbound calls, challenging existing purchasing habits, and influencing decision-makers to consider new distribution partners.

We are looking for a competitive, coachable, and highly motivated sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where activity, performance, and results directly drive success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive New Business Through Outbound Sales: Consistently prospect and generate new opportunities through high volumes of outbound calls and targeted outreach to independent pharmacies.
  • Engage Pharmacy Decision-Makers: Build relationships with pharmacy owners, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians to understand purchasing needs and present NDC Distributors as a trusted supply partner.
  • Leverage Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of generic drugs and pharmaceutical distribution to educate customers and influence purchasing decisions.
  • Influence Customer Behavior: Engage prospects in meaningful conversations that challenge current buying habits and introduce more effective purchasing solutions.
  • Manage and Grow Accounts: Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand business.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Execute against defined sales goals through disciplined pipeline management and consistent outreach activity.
  • Collaborate Internally: Partner with Procurement, Operations, and leadership to ensure customer needs are delivered efficiently and reliably.
  • Track Sales Activity: Maintain accurate records of outreach, pipeline progress, and forecasts within CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of sales or business development experience, ideally in pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare distribution, or a related industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with generic drugs and familiarity with independent pharmacy customers is preferred. Backgrounds in human or animal health pharmaceuticals are both relevant.
  • Results-Driven: Proven ability to generate new business through consistent prospecting and outbound sales activity.
  • Sales Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage pharmacy owners and clinical staff.
  • Coachability: Open to feedback and motivated to continuously improve.
  • Organization: Ability to manage a sales pipeline and maintain consistent follow-up.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Why NDC Distributors?

NDC Distributors is building a national presence in pharmaceutical distribution while maintaining a strong focus on independent pharmacy partnerships. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact company growth, develop deep relationships within the pharmacy community, and build a long-term career in a performance-driven sales environment.
