Location: Lincolnshire, IL Hybrid (office + remote) Travel: 25–40% nationwide Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire About the Opportunity: Our client, a long-established, manufacturer and distributor in the automotive lighting sector, is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven In-House Salesperson to support national sales growth. This role blends account management, data-driven sales strategy, agency coordination, and customer-facing field work. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys visiting customers and attending trade shows, and is equally comfortable analyzing data, forecasting, and presenting insights to leadership. Role Overview: This position focuses on managing and expanding existing accounts, supporting national rep agencies, and driving strategic growth initiatives. You’ll handle pricing updates, forecasting, reporting, and customer engagement while representing the company at industry events and customer trade shows. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being both analytical and customer-facing — a true 50/50 hybrid. Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow revenue within existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and SKU expansion. Serve as the primary liaison for national sales rep agencies; set expectations and hold reps accountable. Prepare and distribute annual pricing updates while ensuring margin targets are met. Deliver monthly and quarterly sales reports with actionable insights, including trend analysis and opportunity sizing. Develop accurate sales forecasts and track performance against targets. Conduct customer visits across the U.S., present new products, and build long-term relationships. Represent the company at major industry trade shows (including a large annual event in November) and customer-hosted events in February and June. Coordinate booth setup, product displays, and post-event follow-up. Collaborate closely with purchasing, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies. Create and share detailed meeting notes within 48 hours of customer visits, trade shows, and rep meetings. Support new product launches and coordinate marketing materials for rep and customer presentations. What Success Looks Like: Demonstrates strong ownership, initiative, and confidence in working cross-functionally. Builds rapport with national sales reps and key internal teams. Learns the product line and begins identifying trends and opportunities through reporting. Establishes a proactive communication rhythm with customers and internal stakeholders. Begins planning and executing customer visits and rep meetings independently.
