Position Overview
A well-established lumber and mill operation is seeking a Sales Representative to support its wholesale hardwood distribution and custom-molding manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key link between customers and internal operations, ensuring accurate quoting, efficient order processing, and seamless cross-departmental coordination.
As part of the onboarding process, the first two months will include hands-on experience in the lumber yard to build product knowledge, understand inventory flow, and gain exposure to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with outside sales representatives to prepare customer quotes and confirm product availability
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries regarding current and upcoming projects
- Develop and deliver accurate pricing information in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the Traffic Manager to address inventory, logistics, and shipping needs
- Coordinate with the Mill Manager to process molding and millwork orders
- Engage directly with customers to quote, negotiate, and finalize sales orders
- Support cross-functional operations through training across multiple departments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records and documentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sales and/or customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accountability and follow-through
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Additional Details
- Initial onboarding includes approximately two months of hands-on training in the lumber yard
- Ongoing cross-training across departments is expected
- Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs
