Summary:

The SAM-USTW Transportation Driver will actively participate in day to day customer fulfillment via delivery in accordance with achieving client services levels and financial objectives. The Driver will maintain a high level of safety, awareness and precaution while driving and performing each delivery. This position reports directly to the Team Lead.

Duties:

• Perform routine daily tasks such as picking, counting and preparing shipments for delivery.
• Successfully handle and deliver packages while observing time management to ensure timely deliveries based on established routing and delivery goals.
• Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicle; follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies.
• Establishes and maintains outstanding professional relations with customers.
• Proactively manage product integrity by implementing cargo securement procedures and taking necessary security precautions.
• Manage required documents and procedures in accordance with transportation regulations and company requirements.
• Secures and transfers customer payment to the accounting department.
• Maintain a high level of safety and housekeeping awareness in the general warehouse environment and on the road.
• Performing basic truck maintenance and vehicle housekeeping.
• Collaborate with co-workers to improve efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Other duties as assigned and requested.

Desired Skills and Requirements:

• Commercial Drivers License Class B or higher with a clean driving record required.
• Hazmat Endorsement encouraged.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to walk, stand, move around equipment, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and stretch
• Use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and back
