About this Position:Job Title: SAN Storage & Fabric AdministratorResponsibilities:Manage LUN’s, NAS, Fabric switches and connections to the storage arrays on the Production and Test/Development environments.Provision new LUN’s as requested, and reclaim storage when applicable.Work with the virtualization team and fine tune storage configurations to get the best performance/resource utilization.Detection of SAN issues, monitoring and ownership of standards and requirements.Verify, create and remove NTFS permissions as requested.Participate in capacity planning for the infrastructure.Provide tools and procedures for resources provisioning.Document processes and procedures.Propose storage provisioning solutions to be analyzed and/or implemented.Evaluate and apply version updates of firmware and software to controllers and arrays.Develop and implement test plans to verify installation, upgrades or repairs, including back-out plans.Daily management of Veeam Backup and Replication jobs, including Office 365.Create new backup jobs as required to maintain industry standard of 3-2-1 retention.Outstanding communication skills.Excellent troubleshooting skills.Ability to provide after-hours support occasionally as needed.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.Initiative to research and resolve problems.Minimum Skillsets:5+ years experience with SAN, NAS and Fabric administration and support.Working experience with Dell Unity administration (CloudIQ) and support.Basic understanding of vSphere and Horizon environments.Strong focus on storage capacity planning and performance tools.Requirements/Tasks:Provide expertise and administration in the area of Storage and Fabric.This includes guidance in best practices, research into options and potential solutions, and professional presentation as requested.Create documentation and supporting procedures for all key related systems and processes directly impacting storage and fabric.Transfer key knowledge and educate staff in applicable areas.Historically six (6) minor system improvements were performed each year.An amendment to the PAQ will be issued for each project after the project scope is identified and pricing is established for the completion of the improvement."No phone calls please."
