Sanitation Laborer Under immediate supervision of the Sanitation Superintendent, the Sanitation Laborer performs refuse, recycling, and composting collection for the Borough of Phoenixville. Work involves lifting heavy containers and loading contents onto refuse collection trucks, and performing physically strenuous activities such as lifting furniture and other heavy items left for collection. Responsibilities Pick up of municipal trash and recycling on the back of the refuse/recycle vehicles Assist with bulk trash pickup Assist with leaf/yard waste pickup Clean and wash equipment and machinery Run hand and power equipment Assist with customer service and documentation at the compost site Assist with the removal of snow on Borough sidewalks at Borough buildings, parks, and properties Internal maintenance of Borough buildings as required Maintenance of Borough properties as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Ability to perform heavy manual labor including lifting heavy objects and working in all weather conditions; Possess general knowledge and ability to operate Borough-owned vehicles, equipment, hand and power tools; Must have ability to meet approved physical standards Special Requirements Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License Application Instructions Please review the attached job description for essential duties/responsibilities and physical standards.
