The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation throughout the facility and for recommending improvements in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management. This position oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of sanitation programs and SOPs to meet company standards and regulatory requirements.

Stand for long periods (minimum 6 hours; maximum 12 hours with a break); no sitting positions.
Lift up to 50 lbs consistently as required by departmental needs.
Wear and utilize personal protective equipment as needed.
Climb ladders, traverse walkways, and work in confined spaces (e.g., spiral, oven area).
Maintain sanitation employees’ attendance records.
Develop operating policies and procedures as necessary.
Create Master Sanitation Schedules for plant and warehouse facilities (interior/exterior) to ensure superior sanitation of production areas, equipment, and surroundings at all times.
Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
Follow up on work orders to ensure timely execution.
Manage the inventory and purchasing of sanitation supplies.
Create SSOPs for equipment and plant structures as needed.
Prepare, train, and supervise sanitation employees on proper sanitation and sanitizing procedures.
Ensure cleaning tasks are completed adequately and on time.
Plan, manage, and direct plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements to keep equipment clean and production-ready.
Supervise the execution of the sanitation program and ensure adherence to company and regulatory policies for food-safety, health & safety, and environmental programs.
Supervise sanitation personnel, train on sanitation procedures, and ensure effectiveness of cleaning.
Administer progressive discipline per company policy.
Maintain planned staffing levels by participating in interviews and hiring sanitation team members.
Organize and coordinate cleaning activities for equipment and facilities on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual cycles.
Direct team activities to ensure cleaning occurs in alignment with operational activities and schedules.
Participate in self-assessments and checks to verify cleaning effectiveness and maintain records and documentation.
Investigate sanitation problems and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Collaborate with Food Safety to maintain forms, records, SSOPs and documentation supporting the Food Safety Program.
Assist with audits regarding sanitation and chemical use issues and ensure proper use of all sanitation equipment.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years working in sanitation in the food industry or prior supervisory experience.
Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, and Email) required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Associates degree in a related field preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, CIP, and other sanitation methods.
Strong supervisory skills with experience supporting and motivating a team.
Excellent time management skills.
