Position Summary:

This positions is responsible for efficiently producing finished products and maintaining the highest possible food safety quality standards. Setup, operation, monitoring and cleaning equipment to ensure the most efficient production and highest level of product quality at all times and minimize waste. Make minor adjustments to equipment as needed. Operate all line equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean belts, conveyors, palletizers, etc. in packaging areas.
  • Maintain white perimeter lines by mopping, sweeping, and re-painting as necessary.
  • Keep all process and packaging area floors clean and free of oil, residual product, etc.
  • Ensure that overhead areas are clean and free of dust, product, cobwebs, etc.
  • Wipe down control panels and tops of electrical boxes.
  • Pressure wash inside tank farm areas to prevent oil buildup.
  • Maintain order, clean under and throughout spice racks and in Spice Room.
  • Use a forklift to ensure garbage is not allowed pile up during shift. Dump in garbage into dumpster.
  • Responsible for operating Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, and Floor Scrubbing equipment.
  • Chemical safety training will be required (provided by Ecolab).
  • Train other employees on all jobs and other non-routine duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures. Comply with all GMPs, food safety and quality procedures to ensure that food safety and quality objectives are met. Comply with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report all safety, food safety and quality problems to management. Work cooperatively with team and peers.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing using electronic media telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel.
  • Requires excellent observation and auditing skills and a good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Food plant experience preferred.

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience as a production line worker in a food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of GMP and chemical handling.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
