Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced SAP MES Project Manager/Program Manager with a proven background in managing projects within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • The ideal candidate will lead SAP Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) implementations, ensuring alignment with business goals, compliance with regulatory standards, and seamless integration with existing ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA.
  • This role requires strong project management skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and expertise in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of SAP MES implementation projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk management strategies, and status reports.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate workshops, discussions, and decision-making processes with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate project updates to senior leadership and address concerns proactively.

Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.
  • Work with quality assurance teams to validate MES solutions and documentation.

System Integration:

  • Oversee integration of SAP MES with SAP ERP (e.g., S/4HANA) and other manufacturing systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency between systems to support real-time decision-making.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor project teams, including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Identify resource needs, allocate responsibilities, and ensure team alignment with project goals.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes using MES capabilities.
  • Leverage data and insights to drive process efficiency and cost savings.
  • Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in project or program management, with a focus on SAP MES or similar systems.
  • Hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, with strong knowledge of GMP and validation processes.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale SAP MES implementations.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and its integration with MES.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, with expertise in tools like Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, batch management, and supply chain workflows.
  • Regulatory compliance expertise (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications.
  • SAP certifications in MES or related modules.
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience in global pharmaceutical projects.
  • Knowledge of digital manufacturing trends, IoT, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Location & Travel Requirements
  • Hybrid role with travel to manufacturing sites as required.
