Summary

The Scale Technician will be responsible for providing technical support services in a variety of areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may also be assigned. 

Responsible for providing technical support services in the following areas including but not limited to:

Repair and calibration of scaling systems and product labeling (direct thermal label printers).

Repair, calibrate, and support of Safe line Metal Detectors, X-Ray Machine, PE/Encoder based integrated factory equipment.

Use of multi-meter, load cell simulator, schematics, etc. to troubleshoot equipment problems and 110v devices.

Defining and resolving technical problems.

Personal computer systems used in and with factory systems.

Collecting and documenting requests and problems.

Performing daily functions and maintenance routines as assigned.

Maintain KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and score cards to drive continuous improvement.

Ensure USDA regulatory compliance, HACCP, SSOP, SOP, GMP, and SQF program quality, and safety.

Advocate and maintain a strong commitment to safety in the operating process

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Associates Degree or knowledge equivalent to in a related field.

1-year manufacturing experience working with technical systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are represented of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. Ability to plan work on a daily schedule, work independently and be a highly motivated individual.

Ability to use a multi-meter and troubleshoot logical use of equipment controls and systems.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret multiple information sources.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Word Processing software.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use repetitive hand motions.  The employee is frequently required to walk; repetitive use arm motions; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl into confined spaces.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance with proper equipment. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or move up to 50 pounds.  This person also must be able to use their vision abilities to be able to observe and focus.
