Scarborough Alliance, a part of PlanMember Retirement Services, provides investment advisory, retirement planning and administrative services for local unions and their members throughout the country. This is a financial services position with a wide variety of responsibilities including investment advisory, retirement income and investment planning, client relationship management, client services, marketing, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

Location: Must be in New York (preferably in Westchester County area), or, New Jersey, or Florida (preferably in Tampa area), or Missouri (preferably in Saint Louis area).

If located within 40 miles of the Irvington, New York office, position will be on-site with allotted remote days.

Salary Range: Starting salary is typically between $75,000 and $95,000 annually, with the opportunity to receive variable compensation based on new business generation. Salary is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidates relevant experience, and internal equity.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: If you have some or all of the following, we would like to speak with you.

Participant Services

  • Provide advice and exemplary service to plan participants about topics which will include asset allocation, mutual funds, market volatility, avoiding common investment mistakes, account performance, rebalancing, dollar-cost-averaging, withdrawal strategies, beneficiary designation, required minimum distributions, plan loans, etc.
  • Provide retirement income and investment planning services to people who are transitioning into retirement including budgeting of retirement expenses, examining available assets and income and risk tolerance assessments
  • Prepare retirement analysis reports using planning software
  • Provide individual investment advice to retirement plan participants and construct portfolios in individual investment advisory accounts
  • Conduct annual account reviews for an assigned list of participants to address questions and help ensure the investment and distribution strategy is consistent with current circumstances
  • Enroll participants into qualified employer retirement plans
  • Encourage members to start planning early and create a plan showing whether they are on track to meet their retirement goals
  • Participate in client retention efforts such as speaking with people who have been approached by other advisors
  • Assist participants and family members in opening additional accountsproviding advice to participants to secure rollover assets to plan and other investment assets to PlanMember
  • Respond and follow-up on inquiries received through our websites and other inquiries
  • Scheduling, conducting, and tracking group workshops, webinars, and individual appointments
  • Contribute content to newsletter articles, presentations, and other marketing materials
  • Conduct research as requested on topics such as products, industry fees, target-date funds, and pension calculations
  • Keep current with product offerings and industry trends to assist Regional Managers to face competition and retain clients
  • Support Regional Managers including assisting in closing sales, creating retirement plans, discussing retirement planning strategies, recommending marketing materials, and providing ongoing services to established clients
  • Execute trade orders as requested by clients

Plan Sponsor Services

  • Serve as point of contact for Plan Sponsor relationship management
  • Resolve Plan level operational or service issues
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all plan documents and investment options
  • Administer periodic Plan reviews including Plan health reports and investment review
  • Work with employers and PlanMember marketing staff to coordinate social media and other digital campaigns to promote utilization of services
  • Other duties and administrative functions as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelors degree Required
