Scheduler Apply
The Scheduler oversees the dayshift shop and field technicians and is responsible for setting up their daily schedules. The Scheduler coordinates with field supervision on when equipment can be serviced/repaired with the least amount of downtime. The Scheduler is also responsible for the utilization of company and rental equipment and for determining which equipment should go to each jobsite.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Determine a weekly and 2-week production schedule, based on a variety of factors, including feedback from the field, necessary equipment repairs, contractual deadlines and new job starts. The Scheduler balances these elements to create an actionable and efficient schedule.
- Monitors job site milestones and interdependencies, making adjustments to the schedule based on changing conditions. This aspect of the role requires excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Identifies schedule conflicts with operations and provides alternate plans to solve the conflict. Communicates all needed and scheduled repairs with the appropriate operations personnel.
- Schedules resources and equipment. Managing employees and timelines, along with scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment repairs requires extensive familiarity with the company’s workforce and equipment capabilities and needs. Includes preparation of schedules for all technicians.
- Identifies opportunities to improve the work being performed through more effective schedule management. Introducing process improvement processes, to get more done while using fewer resources and less personnel or shift processes to eliminate redundant work or combine activities that overlap.
- Prepare reports outlining field activities and effectiveness. These reports should compare expected production levels to actual output, identify areas for improvement, and propose changes to internal processes to enhance production efficiency and support effective manufacturing processes.
- Facilitates the best means and methods for repair scheduling; responsible for the distribution/communication of repair status. Schedules all outside vendor repairs and approves associated invoices.
- Helps with various Dispatch responsibilities. Covers when Dispatcher is off.
- Manages the shop and field technicians.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction.
- A minimum of 3 years in preparing schedules.
- BA/BS degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related technical field preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project; Word; PowerPoint; Excel).
- Knowledge of contract procedures and principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Ability to understand construction logic and de-sequencing of projects.
